Data & Account Deletion

This page explains how to delete your Wingbie account and the personal data associated with it, what is removed, what we are required to keep, and how long it takes. Wingbie (wingbie.com) is operated by Wingbie Inc. This applies to both Members (clients) and Wings (coaches), on the website and in our iOS and Android apps.

Delete your account yourself (fastest)

You can permanently delete your account and data at any time, directly from your account:

1. Sign in at app.wingbie.com (or in the Wingbie app).
2. Go to your Profile / Settings.
3. Choose Delete account.
4. You’ll see a confirmation prompt explaining what happens — confirm to proceed.

Once confirmed, your account is closed and your personal data is removed or anonymized as described below. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Request deletion without signing in

If you can’t access your account, email privacy@wingbie.com from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my account.” We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request to protect your account. We will confirm once your data has been deleted.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we remove or irreversibly anonymize the personal data we hold about you, including:

• Your profile (name, email, photo, bio, and — for Wings — location, skills, offerings, and availability).
• Your dating journey and private journal, saved Wings, and matchmaker opt-ins.
• Your messages, notes, reviews, and booking history (de-identified).
• Session recordings tied to you (recordings also auto-expire 90 days after a session regardless of deletion).

What we must keep (and why)

Some records are retained after deletion where the law requires it or to protect the Service — kept only as long as necessary and stripped of unnecessary personal detail:

• Financial & transaction records (payments, payouts, taxes) — retained as required by tax and accounting law, commonly up to 6–7 years in Canada.
• Trust & safety records — limited records needed to prevent fraud, abuse, or to meet legal obligations (for Wings, this can include verification status).
• Aggregated or anonymized data that can no longer identify you may be retained.

How long it takes

Self-serve deletion takes effect immediately. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our normal backup rotation, generally within 30 days. For emailed requests, we respond and complete deletion within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically within 30 days).
